Nationals, Mysore staged a stirring final-quarter rally to edge out Pinakini from Gauribidanur 49-47 in a boys’ second-round match in the State Junior (U-18) basketball championship at the Sree Kanteerava stadium outdoor courts here on Wednesday.
In a match where fortunes swung to and fro, Nationals opened up a comfortable 8-3 lead in a low-scoring first quarter, but Pinakini came surging back in quarters two and three, outscoring their opponents 31-25 during that period to lead 34-33 going into the final ten minutes of the match.
That triggered a dramatic fightback from the Nationals outfit.
