Challengers chill out!
Most players of the Bangalore Royal Challengers relaxed with a round of golf at the Eagleton Golf Resort at Bidadi on Wednesday.
Kiwi Ross Taylor, however, gave the outing a skip and instead preferred to hop around Bangalore on his own.
Meanwhile, Pakistan’s middle-order batsman Misbah-ul-Haq was expected to arrive in the City late on Wednesday night, while Bangladeshi left-arm spinner Abdur Razzaq will land on Thursday. South African paceman Dale Steyn is widely speculated to join the team later this weekend. On Thursday morning, the Challengers will have a practice session at the KSCA (B) ground.
Gayle joins Knight Riders
West Indian skipper Chris Gayle arrived in Kolkata to bolster the morale of the Knight Riders for their crucial away match against the Chennai Super Kings on Saturday.
The Caribbean all rounder accompanied the Knight Riders on the field at the Eden Gardens on Wednesday but did not take part in routine work-outs under coach John Buchanon.
Gayle, who picked up a groin injury during the home one-day series against Sri Lanka, is expected to have full-fledged practice on the morrow.
Pakistanis Umar Gul and Salman Butt were expected to join the side on Wednesday night.
All credit to team, says SRK
Taking little credit for his team’s performance, Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, the owner of the Kolkata Knight Riders, said his team’s victories in the Indian Premier League were due to team effort.
“I don’t dictate to the team at all, that would be silly... Imagine Sourav Ganguly telling me how I should have delivered my dialogues in Om Shanti Om. I don’t even enter the team room without knocking,” he said in Mumbai.
