Next CM: Dharam changes tack
Gulbarga, dhns: With the ball being set in motion for the crucial assembly elections, senior Congress leader Dharam Singh had done a volte-face by saying that the choice of selecting the next chief minister should be left to the Congress high command, should the party emerge victorious.
Singh had, till recently, said that his long-time friend and KPCC president Mallikarjun Kharge should be made the chief minister.
Speaking to mediapersons here on Wednesday, Singh said he was confident of his party getting a majority on its own, and forming the next government. When asked who would be the chief minister in that event, Singh quipped, “The matter is left to the high command.’’
He claimed that the party has done its best by selecting candidates most likely to win the elections. He said the third list will be released shortly.
