All the thirty nomination papers filed by 18 candidates was accepted. Thus, now in the election battle ground are K Srinivasa Gowda from Congress, Nissar Ahmed from the JD(S), Sonne Gowda (BJP) and independent candidate R Varthur Prakash. Though the ‘B’ form submitted by G Ramaraju from the BJP was accepted, he later withdrew it and now Sonne Gowda from the BJP will be entering the political ring as the official candidate.
Moreover, Mr Sonne Gowda is the richest candidate who has filed his nomination paper in the Kolar assembly constituency.
Mr Sonne Gowda and his wife have Rs 50,000 each to their credit in cash. He and his wife have Rs 5.56 lakh each as deposit in a bank. Also, he has $ 1, 20,000 in the form of bonds and debentures and Rs 78,000 deposit in Vijaya Bank.
In addition to this, he also owns a Mercedes Benz and gold jewellery worth Rs 5 lakh, land worth Rs 60 lakh and apartment worth $ 1,70,000.
Mr Sonne Gowda also owns a house worth Rs 1 crore and another house in the name of his wife worth $ 1,00,000.
These are as per the declaration made by Sonne Gowda to the election officer. K Srinivas Gowda from the Congress, as per his declaration owns six sites. He and his wife have Rs 25,000 and Rs 20,000 respectively in cash, Rs 98,611 at a bank in his wife’s name, gold jewellery worth Rs 3,57,183.
In addition to this sites worth Rs 16 lakh, Rs 11,800, Rs 6 lakh, Rs 40,000. He also owns sites worth Rs 55 lakh, rupees four lakh.
As per the declaration made by JD(S) candidate Nissar Ahmed, he has rupees one lakh in cash, Rs 50,000 in the name of his wife and Rs 10,000 each in the name of his two children.
In addition to this, he also owns 250 gms of gold and land worth Rs 17 lakh and a house worth rupees four lakh.
Moreover, independent candidate Varthur Prakash has declared that he owns rupees one lakh in cash. Also, his wife owns Rs 50,000 and one lakh worth bonds and a Qualis car.
