Smooth sailing for Nagaraj

Karnataka's R Nagaraj hardly broke sweat during his 6-0, 6-0 annihilation of Andhra Pradesh's Joji Reddy in the quarterfinals of the plus-45 category of the ninth all-India GVK-AISTA Stepak Senior tennis tournament at the Bowring Institute courts here on Thursday.


Nagaraj was joined in the semifinals by top-seeded RE Sudarshan Rao, V Shankar and VT Ranganath.

In the plus-55 category, all the three Karnataka players in the fray fell by the wayside. While While CB Ramachandra fell 3-6, 1-6 to S Settu of Tamil Nadu, MV Sathyamohan and Pushparaj lost to RI Singh and A Chhatwal of Delhi respectively.
