SP leader, 4 others killed in clash

A Samajwadi party leader and four others were killed, when rival groups clashed in the Azamgarh district in eastern Uttar Pradesh on Saturday morning, reports DHNS from Lucknow. The SP leader Rakesh Singh, also a village pradhan, and his three friends were fired upon by assailants, while returning home after attending a wedding ceremony.

3 cops, 2 rebels killed in encounter

Three police personnel including the officer-in-charge of Shikaripada police station were killed by Maoists during an encounter in Dumka district of Jharkhand on Saturday, reports DHNS from Ranchi. Police retaliated and gunned down two extremists, taking the tally to five in the incident.
