Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee President Mallikarjun Kharge is in trouble. The district administration has seized the helicopter which brought him here on Friday, and booked a case against the pilot for criminal trespass.  The case has been booked for landing the helicopter at the Police Parade Grounds helipad, without permission from the appropriate authority. The incident assumes significance with the Election Commission reportedly considering the possibility of booking a case against Kharge for violation of election code of conduct.

When contacted, Deputy Commissioner and District Election Officer Pankaj Kumar Pandey said that the incident had been reported to the Chief Electoral Officer, and he was awaiting further instructions from the CEO in the matter.
