Woods keen for an early return
Ten days after his knee operation, Tiger Woods was yearning to return to the PGA Tour without having a clear idea of his next event.

"Although I've been through this before and understand the need for patience, I don't enjoy sitting aroundm” Woods said. “I really don’t have a timetable for returning to competition,” Woods added.

Mohammedans,edge Pune FC
Mohammedan Sporting notched up their second consecutive victory of the tournament with a 3-2 win over a spirited Pune FC 3-2 in a second division I-League final round match on Saturday, reports PTI from Guwahati.
Roque Barreto opened the scoring for Mohammedan in the 21st minute which was, however, shortlived with Th Bungo Singh restoring parity two minutes later.

Subair Ali Mutiala put the Kolkata outfit ahead once again in the 38th minute but Lal Rozama leveled the scores five minutes before the breather.

Mohammedan’s foreign recruit Adebayo Tokonbo scored the winning goal in the 62nd minute.

After Saturday’s win, Mohammedan Sporting are on joint top with six points from three matches.

Israel withdraw invitation
Israel withdrew an invitation to motor racing chief Max Mosley on Friday in a further
setback to his efforts to overcome the sex scandal threatening his job, reports Reuters from Barcelona.

International Automobile Federation (FIA) president Mosley, who has ignored calls to resign since the scandal broke last month, had met Israeli Sports Minister Galeb Magadla at the Jordan Rally.

Ashraf clashes with senator

Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman Nasim Ashraf clashed with a member of the Senate Standing Committee on Sports and Culture on Saturday in the hearing held to review the performance of the PCB and its official, reports PTI from Karachi. Ashraf and Senator Envar Baig argued after the senator grilled Board officials over their performances and salaries.
