On paper, the Dasarahalli Assembly constituency has been under BBMP administration for over a year. Yet, the Bangalore tag has merely remained a namesake for the area, which is today more like a halli (village), semantically closer to its real name."
Narrow, non-motorable roads welcome one entering T Dasarahalli area through roads starting from NH-4 on Bangalore-Tumkur Road. Though there are small stretches of asphalted roads at some narrow ‘main’ roads, most roads offer a bumpy ride. Facilities like vehicle parking space or bus shelters seem alien.
A major problem is improper water supply. “Many pay for private water tankers, especially during summer. Some tanks have dried up and are not desilted. As a result, the underground water level has sunk,” says Basavarajappa, a resident.
Houses are closely built up. They were under the erstwhile Dasarahalli CMC, formed in 1996. Many houses are built on revenue sites. Many of these dwellings are seeking regularisation.
The areas are thickly populated by small labourers, factory workers, small vendors and government and private company employees who work either in Peenya Industrial Area or in various parts of the City.
Saroja, a garment factory worker and resident of Kasturinagar in T Dasarahalli, explains the problem of movement. “When I get down the bus on the other end of the Highway, crossing the road to reach my house is very risky. Most vehicles are buses and lorries ply at high speed. We need an overbridge across the road at some junctions.”
The Dasarahalli CMC was formed in 1996. Following this, two terms of elected councils have come and gone. It is one year since it came under BBMP limits. But, in terms of basic amenities, it’s moving at a snail's pace.
Dasarahalli constituency includes seven BBMP wards comprising the erstwhile Dasarahalli CMC areas - Kammagondanahalli, Mallasandra, T Dasarahalli, Laggere and others; and 10 villages that are part of Chikkabanavara and Abbigere village panchayats.
I have lived very close to this place for almost 7 years.. initially it was all ok but now due to the overcrowding of vehicles and the pathetic NH4 road in this stretch, this place is become more and more of a mess.
The local council should take some action before it become a hell on earth.

Interestingly most of the similar problem appears in Jaraganahalli too!!. Jaragana halli even being in very close proximity to JP Nagar, has not at all improved in its infrastructure.
It is pathetic with road conditions, Telephone lines are not available, Electric poles are in very bad shape / position. road are very narrow.
Lot of unlicensed mutton shops are around & not the least, DOGS hound the whole area.

Being a resident of T.Dasarahalli for well over 2 decades, the village has extended manifolds. Desipite 2 terms of CMC, the basic amenities like drinking water and motorable roads are a distant dream. Govt. has collected money for supply of Kaveri Water close to 2 years but not a single drop of Kaveri water has flown through the taps. None of the people representatives from erstwhile CMC has done anything to appreciate and are given tickets for the coming assembly elections.
