New facility for Balaji devotees
Tirupati, PTI:
In a move to help pilgrims thronging the famous hill shrine of Lord Venkateswara at Tirumala, the temple administration will construct a short-stay accommodation facility at an estimated cost of Rs 314 crore for housing more than 12,000 devotees.

The decision was taken at the monthly meeting of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) board on Sunday, TTD Chairman B Karunakar Reddy told mediapersons.

Meal complex

A multi-storied free meal complex with a seating capacity of 10,000, including modern kitchen facilities would also be constructed on the hills at the earliest, he said.

The TTD would also organise its platinum jubilee celebrations, ‘Amruthotsavam’, here in June this year.

The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams  took over the  temple administration in 1933 from Sri Swamy Hathiranjee Mutt, a charitable out-fit, Reddy added.
