Although the PUE department has made it mandatory for the colleges to issue application at Rs 15, some colleges have come up with methods to ensure extra amount of application is collected.
Rangadhar, a student said that he had picked up application from few colleges like St Josephs’ Arts and Science Pre University College, MES College and Sheshadripuram college. “I’m hoping to get above 80 percent in my Class X results. I will be taking up Science combination or Commerce at St Joseph Arts and Science college or MES College.”
Most city colleges have not decided on the cut off percentage required for admission to the first year PUC courses of various combinations. Bishop Cotton Girls College principal Joyce Sundar, said, “We will put up the cut off percentage of the various combinations after the Class X or SSLC results are announced.” Some of the top colleges have come up with innovative methods to ensure that they charge more than the notified application fees. Some institutions have made the submission of application online, charging an extra sum of Rs 15 along with the regular fees. Certain other institutions made it mandatory that the students buy other forms like the student’s data form for extra sum of money exceeding the amount by more than Rs 100. owever, PUE commissioner S G Hegde was not available for comment on the colleges flouting the rules of application fees.
