Spurious liquor seized
Bangalore, DHNS: Sleuths from the Excise Enforcement and Lottery Prohibition wing seized spurious liquor worth Rs 5.98 lakh on Monday in separate incidents.
As many as 10,800 bottles of whisky packed in 225 cardboard boxes with the label ‘Wild Shot’, were seized from the farm of Thimme Gowda alias Moodalaiah (45) at Narasapura village in Hebbur hobli in Tumkur. Each bottle, with a price tag of Rs 36 and valued at Rs 4 lakh, was brought from Madhya Pradesh.
In another incident, police seized 69 cartons of spurious liquor valued at Rs 1.98 lakh. The cartons contained 180 ml whisky bottles manufactured by Silver Rock, for sale in Arunachal Pradesh.
Flights to Kuwait, Dubai, Dhaka
In an attempt to expand its international services, low cost carrier Air India Express (AIE) will introduce new flights to Kuwait, Dubai and Dhaka in the next six months. The services to Kuwait would be introduced from Kerala, Mangalore and Ahmedabad, to Dubai from Goa, Pune, Hyderabad and Ahmedabad and to Dhaka from Kolkata, a release said.
The Rs.99 fare tickets can be booked online through the airline website www.airindiaexpress.in as also through appointed travel agents.
AIE operates 153 weekly flights between 13 Indian Cities and 12 international destinations.
