45 file nominations on last day in DK
DH News Service, Mangalore:
A total of 45 candidates filed nomination papers on Tuesday, the last day of filing nominations for the second phase of Assembly elections.

 Following are constituency-wise details of the candidates and their parties:
In Belthangady, Vasanth Bangera (Congress), Raghu Dharmasen (BSP), K Gangadhar Gowda (JDS), Mahesh Shetty Thimarody (Independent) filed nomination papers.

In Moodabidri, K P Jagadish Adhikari (BJP), Steven Vincent D’Souza (Independent) and K Amaranath Shetty (JDS) filed nominations.

In Mangalore North constituency, Supreeth Kumar Poojary (JDU), S V Amin (JDS), Mumtaz Ali (Congress), M K Haneef, Anand Gatti (Independents), Shashikala M (BSP) and B A Moideen Bava (Congress) filed their nominations.

In Mangalore South, Sathish Prabhu (BJP), B Purandar Shetty (BSP) and Vijendra (Independent) filed nomination papers.

In Mangalore, Harish Alva (JDU), J Mohammed (Independent), Santhosh Kumar Rai (BJP), Usman (Independent), Victor D’Souza (Independent), Ameer (BSP), Abdul Khader (Independent) filed nominations. In Bantwal constituency, B Ramanath Rai (Congress), Thungappa Bangera (BJP), K M Ibrahim (JDS), Aminabi Sheikh (Independent), Mohammed G (JDS), Ramanath Pai (Independent), Norbert Blasi Rodrigues (JDS) and Dolphy Prashanth D’Souza (Independent) filed their papers.

In Puttur constituency, Dr M K Prasad (BJP), M S Prasad (BSP), Jeevan Bhandary (Congress), Nalini Lokappa Gowda (Congress/Independent-two sets), Jagadish Shetty Nellikatte (Independent), K H Ashraf Kallega (Independent), Abdul Aziz Busra (Independent), Bondala Jagannath Shetty (Congress) and Abdul Rahiman (Independent) filed nominations.

In Sullia, B Raghu (Congress), Sharathchandra (JDS), Ramesh M (BSP) and Gokuldas (Congress) filed their nominations.

The nomination papers will be scrutinised on April 30.  May 2 is the last day for withdrawal of nominations.

24 in udupi
Udupi district recorded maximum number of candidates (24) filing their nominations for the second phase of Assembly polls, on the last day on Tuesday. The total number of nominations filed moved up to 44 throughout the district.

Haladi Srinivas Shetty of BJP, Mani Gopal (BJP), Chandrakanth Kharvi (Independent), Aswar Fernandes (BSP), Manjunath (JD(S), Mohammed Hussein (Independent) filed their papers from Kundapur constituency.

Shiriyar Muddanna Shetty (JD(S), Udaya (BSP), Abdul Aziz (Independent), Suresh Poojary, Abdullah and Kamalaksha as Independent candidates filed their nominations from Byndoor constituency.

Raghupathy Bhat (Independent), Zakir Hussein (BSP), Zafrulla (Independent) and Promod Madhwaraj from Congress for the second time filed their nominations from Udupi constituency.

In Karkala, Chandrahas Suvarna (JD(S), Ganesh (BSP), and Syed (BSP) too filed their papers.

Leeladhar Shetty (JD(S), Steven John Menenzes (BSP), Gururaj Bhat, Nagesh Rao, Amir Hamza, and Dinesh Suvarna all as Independent candidates filed their nominations from Kaup constituency.
