Inspector No-gueira said the alterca-tion began when Ronal-do found out he was dealing with transve-stites instead of women. “He admitted to every-thing, he wanted to ha-ve fun,” Nogueira was quoted as saying.
‘Gill’s talent will be tapped’
Ousted Indian Hockey Federation chief KPS Gill’s ‘talents’ would be utilised when Delhi hosts the 2010 Commonwealth Games, Indian Olympic Association president Suresh Kalmadi said on Tuesday, reports PTI from New Delhi.
A day after suspending the IHF, Kalmadi said,” KPS Gill was has done a lot of work...but we had to take the decision in the greater interest of Indian hockey. But his talents will be utilised in Commonwealth Games.”
I-League teams to be increased
The Football I-League will feature 12 teams from this year, All India Football Federation decided Tuesday, reports IANS from New Delhi.
The inaugural I-league this season was competed by 10 teams. A formal decision on the matter will be taken on May 5. AIFF has also appointed a committee comprising two members to look into the matters related to the league. It was also decided to cut down on the number of foreign players to two instead of three in the state league.
Indian juniors rout Pakistan
India continued their fine form ín the Asia Oceania Junior Davis Cup tennis tournament as they outclassed Pakistan 3-0 in Delhi on Tuesday, reports IANS from New Delhi.
Saurabh Singh, who gave a powerful performance on Monday against Singapore, carried his touch against Samir Iftikhar and wrapped up the first singles 6-1, 6-1 in only 48 minutes.
Yuki Bhambhri, playing with confidence, then got the better of Heera Ashiq 6-0, 6-4 in the second singles.
In the doubles, Yuki and Saurabh found little opposition from Ashiq and Faizan Khurram and won 6-2, 6-0. India next meet Thailand Wednesday.
Akram to train young bowlers
