SP to bear labour cost of BPL women
DH News Service, Bangalore:
If Samajwadi Party is allowed by the electorate to deliver, it will bear the labour cost of women living below the poverty line.

No kidding but true. The party, whose manifesto was released on Tuesday, made a promise to the women of the State that it will offer maternity allowance of Rs 500 for six months.

The Party, in its four-pages manifesto has promised to offer free 10 kg rice and a colour TV and maternity allowance of Rs 500 for six months for the women living below the poverty line.

Addressing media persons after releasing the manifesto for the forthcoming Assembly elections the state treasurer of the party B S Parameshwaraiah said the party was always pro-people and pro-farmer, unlike any other political party, whose eyes are only on power and money.

Other promises

He said the party makes a promise to the farming community that it will provide 5 acres of land to the landless agriculture labourers, free power for pump sets up to 10 HP capacity. The party also assured 10 kg rice to the BPL families free of cost and an allowance of Rs 500 for the youths from BPL community.

Parameshwaraiah said the party will contest elections in more than 150 constituencies across Karnataka and play a decisive role in forming the government.
