City-Mysore rail doubling in 2 yrs
Bangalore , dhns: While the Bangalore-Mysore Railways doubling will be completed in two years, the much sought-after project, Chamarajnagar-Mettupalyam line - remains a non-starter, as it is caught in a ‘forest’ problem.
The Hassan-Shravanabalagola line, which was closed after some problems, will start functioning from May and Railways is planning to run some trains in the route.
These were some of the announcements made during an interaction with Praveen Kumar, General Manager of South Western Railway on Tuesday at FKCCI.
Praveen Kumar said the doubling of the line was almost complete and the project estimate for Ramanagaram-Mysore (92 km) was sent to the Railway Board in January this year.
