Meet on Parkinson's
Parkinson’s Disease Society of Karnataka is organising a meeting on April 4 to discuss psychological problems caused by Parkinson's disease and how best to cope with them. Dr Hemchand will speak in English and Kannada. The meeting will be held at Rotary Club of Bangalore, Lavelle Road at 4:30 pm.
Land acquisition soon
The BDA will start acquiring land for Nadaprabhu Kempegowda Layout between Magadi Road and Mysore Road areas within ten days. BDA Commissioner H Siddaiah said the government notification regarding land acquisition will be out within a week.
The Commissioner inspected works taken up by the Authority on Thursday, during which he told media persons that 4,814 acres of land will be acquired to form 60,879 sites. As many as 20,000 houses will be constructed for low income groups on 120 acres of land.
The BDA has identified land in 12 villages for the layout. These villages are: Kommaghatta, Krishna Sagar, Bheemanakuppe, B Ramasagar, Sulikere, Kenchanapura, Ramasandra, Challaghatta, Shigehalli, Kannahalli, Kodigehalli, Manganahali.
He inspected works on Outer Ring Road (ORR) connecting Magadi Road and Mysore Road and asked engineers to complete construction on the remaining 4.82 km of the ORR by May-end.
Meanwhile, he said the BDA will develop Ullala lake and Kommaghatta lakes - which have been handed over to the Authority by the State government - as tourist attractions. Boating will be introduced in both lakes, he said.
