Chennigappa to contest from Doddaballapur  
Former minister C Chennigappa said on Thursday that he is contesting to Assembly elections from Doddaballapur constituency.
Dissidence deepens in Sira, Pavagada  
In Sira, although there is no open dissidence, there are signs of dissatisfaction expressed against the previous legislator B Satyanarayana. Besides it is felt that it would not be an easy victory for him this time. As many as 11 Congress aspirants has filed their applications for the Sira assembly constituency.
Let general category candidates contest  
I will not contest from the Madhugiri Legislative Assembly Constituency and instead will strive to secure the B form from the Congress party to localite, said former minister Dr G Parameshwar.
Farmers suffer as paddy fields submerge  
Nearly 50 hectares of paddy fields which had been tended too and the farmers had spent lakhs of rupees on it are now facing a bleak future with all their investment being literally washed away.
