Chellidaru malligeya.....’ the popular and meaningful folk song has its own value. This was adapted in the dance form and presented by Strishakti Group members at Kengeri Upanagar recently.
The women and child welfare department along with the Strishakti and self-help group organised this colourful function. It was held on the occasion of the third anniversary of the group.
The members who participated in this ‘nrityarupaka’ performed on stage with props like ‘kudugolu’, gerase, onake, beeso kallu. A village scene was enacted which really caught the attention of the audience. The response was amazing.
The members who participated in this dance include: Savitha, Bharati Ganeshan, Latha, Vijayalaxmi, Uma, Lalitha, Hemalatha, Dhanalaxmi, Padmavati and Aruna.
After the ‘nrityarupaka’, a Gujarati dance was also performed. Then there was Gamaka Vachana by Sujala Bhat. The cultural programme was truly enjoyed and appreciated by the people.
The self-help groups are Sneha, Samruddi, Santripti, Sanmati and Sampoorna.
