International Tech Park celebrated its annual sports extravaganza ‘ITPB Sports Meet’ recently. The fortnight of sporting activities had over 75 companies and their 1,900 odd employees participating in more than 13 categories of indoor and outdoor games.
ITPB has more than 145 companies and over 20,000 employees on its campus. The ITPB Sports Meet, therefore, is a popular platform for companies to showcase their talent in the arena of sports. A wide range of indoor, outdoor, health and fitness and fun games including cricket, football, volley ball, table tennis, athletics, throw ball, carrom, skipping and three legged race made up this year’s event.
The sports meet culminated with the awards ceremony. The event was a closely contested one and the company that emerged, as the ‘Overall Champion’ was the one that won in the maximum number of categories.
The ‘Overall Champions’ for 2008 is Affiliated Computer Services who won in table tennis, throw ball, health and fitness and fun games categories followed by Intertitle and General Motors in the second place. Some of the other participating companies included Ascendas India, Tata Consultancy Services, General Motors, Delphi, Avesthagen and Paprikaas.
