Mocha, Lavelle Road took part in the Earth Hour 2008 and switched off all its lights and appliances for an hour on March 29 between 8 pm and 9 pm. The place was candle-lit and had musician Alan Rego performed everyone's favourite songs including ‘Heal The World’ and ‘Winds of Change’ to help rekindle some global awareness amongst today's youth.
“It was an overwhelming experience to see so many people in support of this cause. Mocha was entirely candle lit which added to the already aesthetic element of the place and coffee in candle-light was an unique experience,” said Sana Kazi a student.
Earth Hour is a global movement created to take a stand against the greatest threat our planet has ever faced, Earth Hour uses the simple action of turning off the lights for one hour to deliver a powerful message about the need for action on global.
