Face elections boldly: Chandregowda
DH News Service, Chikkaballapur:
Congress observer D B Chandregowda gave a call to the workers to face the unexpected elections that has come about as unexpectedly as the unseasonal rain, boldly.

He was speaking after receiving the applications of the Congress ticket aspirants, here on Saturday and said the party is bigger than the individual and one should work for the victory of the party.

The assembly elections in the State will be a pointer to the Lok Sabha elections next year and one should see that the party comes to power in the State so that it will help the party at the Centre to capture power again, he said exhorting the workers.

Earlier, taking advantage of the split in the party a coalition government was formed in the State. But later, the JD(S) and BJP leaders themselves exposed their true colours. The Congress should take advantage of this. The people should be made aware that Congress is not a father-sons party, he said indirectly referring to JD(S).

KPCC members G H Nagaraj, Yaluvahalli N Ramesh, TP former president H V Chikkagerigiri Reddy, City president M Prakash, Perikal Muniyappa, Abdul Khuddus, Muddukrishna, Nayanahalli Narayanswamy, Y B Sriramulu, Naveen Kiran and other aspirants submitted their applications.

Show of strength: The supporters of the aspirants were seen holding the posters of their leaders and shouting slogans in their support.

It was common  to see the chaos at the meeting. When the shouting reached a crescendo, the leaders themselves were trying to calm them down.

The aspirants in unison said that whoever got the ticket they would work for his victory.
