Jagajivan Ram's birthday celebrated
DH News Service, Chikkaballapur:

The 101st birthday of Babu Jagajivan Ram was observed here at a function jointly organised by the district administration and District Social Welfare Department.

Deputy Commissioner Subodh Yadav, Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer H G Sridhar and other district level officer inaugurated the function by placing flowers in front of the portrait of the leader.

The public, political leaders and social and cultural organisations were not invited for the programme and only officials were present. The Green Revolution tableau presenting the message of Babu Jagajivan Ram was created by spending thousands of rupees.

However, due to poll code of conduct, a public procession of the tableau was not taken.

The expensive memento for the guests were distributed among the officers. Milk and fruits were distributed to the patients in the Government hospital.

Backward Class and Minorities Department District Officer Eranna, Joint Director of Agricultural Department Nataraj, Deputy Director of Animal Husbandry Department Dr Shivaram were among those who were present.
