Dubai-based businessman and Rajya Sabha MP P V Abdul Wahab is to move a privilege motion in Parliament against an Indian airlines pilot who reportedly forced him to disembark from a plane in Kozhikode.
The incident happened on Monday morning at the Kozhikode airport where Wahab and his wife had arrived to travel to Kochi en route to Dubai. Wahab claims he had arrived well in advance to catch the Doha-Bahrain-Kozhikode-Kochi flight ICC 998. However, airport sources say the flight which was already delayed by 20 minutes got further delayed to accommodate the VIP.
When Wahab reached the aircraft accompanied by the airlines airport manager, flight captain Rajat Rana entered into an argument with the manager.
Wahab said when he intervened, the pilot asked him to stay off and declared that the flight would not take off with him on board.
Wahab said he got off to avoid further discomfort to the passengers. The flight later left at 9:35 am and Wahab and his wife were later put on an Air India flight from Kozhikode to Dubai. Wahab claimed that there was a delay in taking him from the VIP lounge at the airport to the aircraft.
He later told newsmen in Dubai that he would take up the matter with the Rajya Sabha chairman and move a privilege motion against the pilot.
