He had a digital camera, a flashgun, a pen drive and Rs 20,000 in front of him. But a taxi driver here chose the box of chocolates, over all the other valuables, left by an NRI passenger in his vehicle.
UK-based Mandira Maitra took a taxi Sunday from the Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose airport but left her bag in a taxi. The driver Mahato was tracked down at his Metiabruz house on Monday. “Mahato handed over the bag and other things and apologise for polishing off the box of chocolates,” police said.
Mahato’s explanation was simple - he had never seen such chocolates in Kolkata and as a chocoholic he could not resists from eating them.
