SP meet on Apr 10
Samajwadi Party state president S Bangarappa has said the list of party’s Parliamentary board will meet on April 10 and finalise the list of candidates for 100 constituencies. The list will be released on the same day. Reacting to a question on pre-poll alliance, he said the JD(S) did not respond.
No sympathy: Moily
Congress leader M Veerappa Moily has said that there is no sympathy wave for the BJP. “In fact the JD(S) and the BJP are facing a wave of contempt as they had failed on all fronts during their rule”, he in Bangalore on Tuesday.
Gowda challenges
JD (S) leader H D Deve Gowda was in a challenging mood on Tuesday. He said that at the present juncture, no party can form a government in Karnataka by keeping the JD (S) out.
“I will see how any party will form the government by keeping us out”, he challenged other parties.
Referring to two incidents where some journalists were allegedly beaten up by some JD (S) workers, Gowda criticised Congress leader Siddaramaiah and the Governor, “I know what to do after 60 days. I am not afraid of anyone at this age. Party workers should be like soldiers and should not be scared of anyone”.
Ratan Singh of BJP, Nazeer Samad Sidiqui of Raichur, former Rajya Sabha member Ashwak Ahmed, ex-congress corporator of Shivajinagar were among those who joined the JD (S) on Tuesday.
H D Kumaraswamy is going to conclude his state-wide Jaitra Yatra on April 12. On the same day the Party’s parliamentary board will meet at Deve Gowda’s house and finalise the candidates for the first phase of elections.
Resort to resort
The Congress is not lagging behind the JD (S) when it is comes to camping in a resort to discuss the party affairs. On Wednesday, the first meeting of the election committee of the KPCC will be held in a resort, the name of which is kept under wraps so far.
The panel, headed by Mallikharjun Kharge, will leave the Congress Bhavan at 10:15 am. The candidates for the first phase will be discussed. As many as 2,500 applications have already been received by the party.
Lambani community has demanded that the Congress should field candidates belong to Lambani community at least in 14 assembly segments. MLC Prakash Rathod said the community has population of 40 lakh in the State.
No change in SSLC valuation dates
Bangalore, DHNS: The dates for the valuation of Answer scripts of March 2008 SSLC examination has been already notified and there is no change in the dates already announced, stated a press release from the SSLC Examination Board.
Chief and Joint Chief Examiners will have to report at valuation camps on April 9.
Deputy chief examiners to report at valuation camps on April 10, assistant examiners to report at valuation camps on April 11.
