Illicit liquor claims three more tribals
DH News Service, Madikeri:

Three more tribals have died, either due to excessive drinking or due to consumption of spurious liquor in southern Kodagu. The incident has occurred on the very next day of the death of Mariyappa and Lakshmi couple of Birunani village, suspected to have died for the same reason.

Eravara Kudiya (45) of Thithimathi, Ravi (45) a resident on the Kodagu-Kerala border and Raju (45) a resident of Nagarahole Gaddehadi are the ones who died.

It is evident that that Eravara Kudiya has died due to excessive drinking. Though he was taken to a private hospital in Thithimathi, it was too late to save him. On the other hand, Ravi too died as he did not respond to the treatments in the hospital.

However, Raju of Gaddehadi has died under mysterious circumstances near Bollera Gate at Kuttada Kembukolli. He has lost his skin on the back, and it is difficult to decide whether it is murder or natural death. But it was clear that he was intoxicated.
