Member of Ayurveda and Unani Practitioners’ Board Dr Jayaprakash Narayan clarified on Tuesday that during his tenure as the Board president between 1987 and 1998 he was not aware of any person with a fake certificate being registered as a practitioner.
Reacting to a report in the Deccan Herald on Monday, he said, “Any doctor with a fake certificate is liable for action. During my tenure as the board president, I am not aware of any person with a fake certificate being registered as a practitioner.”
He said the registrar is the competent authority to register as well as cancel registration. “It is open for a competent authority or government to institute an inquiry or cancel the registration of doctors with fake licence,” said Dr Narayan.
