Benz car taken for a royal ride!

Three students made away with a Mercedes Benz on the pretext of taking it for a test drive.



The car was on display at National Motors on Magrath Road. According to the police, the trio approached the sales manager and asked him for a pre-purchase trial. The latter sent Ansar, a driver, along with them.
The trio asked the driver to take the vehicle to T Dasarahali on Tumkur Road as their boss would want to inspect it.

En route, one of them took over the wheel. When a suspicious Ansar asked them how far they wanted to go, they slowed down the vehicle, pushed him out and sped away.

One of the accused has been identified as Samsun, a resident of Austin Town.

DCP (Central) B N S Reddy said investigations are on to trace the vehicle. “We are working on definite clues. Police in neighbouring states have been alerted. We hope to solve the case in a day or two.”

Man injured
Mr Ram Suresh Iyengar, an employee of AMF German Manufacturers, suffered  head injuries when a private bus knocked him down from his two-wheeler, on Hosur Road on Wednesday.

He was returning home from his office when the unregistered bus belonging to Tata Consultancy Services hit him from behind. He fell on the ground and the rear wheel of the bus ran over his head. The bus driver is absconding. Suresh has been admitted to a hospital.

Theft at Society
Miscreants entered the premises of Brahmi Cooperative Society located on Magadi Road and made away with Rs 89,000 in cash on Wednesday night.

The Magadi Road police said the president of the society said, the amount kept in the cash box has been stolen.

Pedestrian killed
A pedestrian was fatally knocked down by a speeding truck on Wednesday at GKVK campus in Hebbal.

Om Prakash, (27) was immediately rushed to Columbia Asia Hospital on Bellary Road where he was declared brought dead. Rash and negligent driving by the driver is said to be the cause.

Motorcyclist killed
Reckless driving by a tanker lorry resulted in the death of a motorcyclist on the Outer Ring Road at Babusapalya under Banaswadi traffic police limits on Wednesday evening at 7.20 pm. The incident occured when the tanker hit Ankur Kumar (28), killing him on the spot.
