Pakistan Supreme Court on Thursday vent its anger at the government for not allowing former prime minister Nawaz Sharif and his brother to return home despite its earlier order in this regard.
Admitting petitions of Nawaz Sharif and his brother Shahbaz seeking permission to return, a two-member bench headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar M Chaudhry issued notices to the federal government and posted the matter for hearing on August 16.
The bench noted that the court had said in April 2003 that the Sharifs had constitutional right to return as they are citizens of Pakistan.“How dare they not implement the court orders? How dare the relief cannot be granted despite court orders?” Justice Chaudhry asked.
