It was Girish Gaba’s day out on Thursday as he moved ahead in the standings after the fourth day of the 19th National Tenpin Bowling Championships at the Star City Bowling Centre here.
Girish recorded a total pinfall of 4734 and with an average of 197.25 after the short oil games held on Thursday. Girish came up with some good strikes early in the day and then got a few double century games too.
His average on Thursday was 205.5, the highest average in a block of six games in the championship so far.
Karnataka’s Vijay Panjabi was in second place with a pinfall score of 4644 and an average of 193.5.
Ajay Singh, one of the top contenders, was in third place with a score of 4606. He has an average of 191.916.
In the women’s section, Tamil Nadu’s Sabeena Saleem continued to lead the field and now has a score of 2210 after 12 games with an average of 184.167.
Andhra Pradesh’s Sumathi was in second place, 45 points behind the leader.
