GM unveils new Chevrolet Aveo
New Delhi, PTI:
General Motors introduced a new version of its mid-sized sedan Chevrolet Aveo priced between Rs 5.9 lakh and Rs 6.8 lakh.

Stepping up its efforts to gain more market share in the Indian automart, General Motors, on Friday, introduced a new version of its mid-sized sedan Chevrolet Aveo priced between Rs 5.9 lakh and Rs 6.8 lakh.

The company also kicked off a customer service package and refund of money if maintenance in a three-year period exceeds a particular amount benchmarked by it. “This is a confidence building measure for our new customers who purchase any car from our Chevrolet range. It is aimed at reducing the cost of ownership,” General Motors India President and Managing Director Rajiv Chaba told reporters here.

Outsourcing plans
Incidentally, the  American car major which has started a vision for outsourcing auto components worth US$1 billion in the next four to five years from India, said it was looking for sourcing only specific parts from the country.
“India has got strength in certain areas such as the forgings, couplings and wiring harness et al., while other country like China has also its own strength in other components. We will not be following an umbrella approach while sourcing from India,” Mr Chaba pointed out.
