Pak Resents Patil’s Remarks
Karachi, Aug. 10.
Pakistan has “protested” to the World Bank that the recent statements by India’s Minister for Power and Irrigation. Mr SK Patil, on the Indus Canal water dispute had violated a tripartite agreement “not to disclose the nature and details of the co-operative talks being carried on under the auspices of the Bank,” an official spokesman said today.
RAF Blasts Oman Imam’s Strongholds
Manamah, Aug. 10.
Royal Air Force planes today blasted the Imam’s strongholds after Imam’s forces had yesterday checked the advance on Nizwa of troops of the Sultan of Muscat, backed by British forces.
At dawn Shakleton bombers dropped a total of 104 go-round fragmentation bombs.

No Disconnection Of Power

The State Government has directed the Karnataka Electricity Board not to disconnect power supply to street lights and drinking water installations of village panchayats under any circumstances. Chief Minister Gundu Rao, said the government had decided to meet the expenditure under different heads and issue instructions to the KEB.
