Festival sweets
During this Nagara Panchami on August 14,  taste the traditional sweets and savouries of North Karnataka at the various Uttara Karnataka Food Stores.

Besan ladu, dry ladu, green ladu, rava ladu, groundnut ladu, Belgaum Kunda and Gokak Kardantu. Various holige items include coconut holige, groundnut holige, til holige, dry dates holige, dal holige and surali holige. Other savouries available are Shankar poli, kajjaya, bakar vade and Savanur khara.

Healthy pickles
This year, the village workers at Navadarshanam have made, in addition to the mango pickle without oil, an additional variety — sweet and sour ('khatta meetha') mango pickles without oil. The products are being sold only at Navadarshanam’s monthly sales at Jayanagar and Malleswaram. The sale of  food items from Navadarshanam will take place on August 11 at "Buoyancee", 52, Diagonal Road, Jayanagar 4th Block (between Post Office and Ganesha Temple), from 4 to 6 pm, and on August 12 at the home of N S Hema, #23, 17th Cross (between 6th and 8th Mains, opp Sri Sri Ravi Shanker Vidya Mandir), Malleswaram, from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm.
