Though special teams have been formed to crack the builder murder case, police are yet to achieve any breakthrough.
The builder, Subba Rao (55) was shot dead by two unknown assailants from a close range around 9.45 pm on Monday.
Speaking to Deccan Herald on Tuesday, Superintendent of Police Satish Kumar said that the police could not gather more information from the kin of the deceased till evening as the last rites of the deceased were performed only in the evening. He hoped that he could get more details on Wednesday only after speaking to the kin of Mr Rao.
Meanwhile, ballistic experts who had arrived from Bangalore inspected the spot and gathered details.
The assailants had fired four rounds out of which one round was misfired while the rest pierced through Mr Rao’s body when he was about to board the car right in front of his shop on K S Rao Road. A live bullet too has been found at the spot, he added.
A number of persons are being questioned. However, no arrests have been made so far in this regard, police sources said. Further investigations are on.
The incident is the fourth shoot out case in Mangalore, the first one being that of Amar Alva in 1993.
