UAE bans import of birds from India
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has enforced a temporary ban on imports of all kinds of birds from India after bird flu was detected there, IANS reports from Dubai. The ban, by the UAE Ministry of Environment and Water, covers “all domestic and wild birds, including ornamental birds and their products.” The decision was taken as a precautionary measure following World Organisation for Animal Health reports on the emergence of bird flu cases in India.
Johansson to star in biopic on adult film star
Hollywood actress Scarlett Johansson will play the role of celebrated adult film star Jenna Jameson in an X-rated forthcoming biopic, IANS reports from New York. The 22-year-old beauty was personally picked by Jameson to chart her transformation from ballet dancer to stripper, before making it big in the adult film industry.
Jameson says: “I tapped up Scarlett for the part and I’m very excited about the film. It was my decision not to play the role because I’ve lived that tale already and anyone can play themselves.”
