Home Minister M P Prakash said that the state government is preparing papers to be presented in the review meeting as well as proposals regarding various demands of the government.
There will be no centenary celebrations of the Legislative Council on August 3 as announced earlier. Council chairman Prof B K Chandrashekhar said that Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has sent a letter informing him that it will be difficult for him to attend the celebrations. “The Prime Minister will come to Bangalore to review works taken up to increase growth in agriculture sector. But there will be no programme to mark centenary celebrations of the Council”, Prof Chandrashekhar said.
