Rules to be amended
Bangalore, DHNS: The government of Karnataka is contemplating amendments to the Karnataka Educational Institutions Rules (KEIR), 1999, regarding the recruitment, terms and conditions of service of employees in private aided primary and secondary educational institutions.
As per sources, the amendment to sub-rule-2 of Rule 21, the government wants schools to appoint more than one person to the inquiry committee to investigate the misconduct or misbehaviour of the employee. The committee should be nominated by the jurisdictional deputy director of the department of public instruction. This amendment to Rule 21 is to prevent exploitation of the employees and prevent them from sacking without proper reasons.
The government has said that objections regarding the two amendments would be taken up for consideration if received before thirty days from the date of publication of these two amendments in the Official Gazette. The notification was released on July 17.
