Metro Rail works halt traffic  
Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation began road works from Cauvery Emporium to Trinity Circle on M G Road on Saturday morning. This part of the road was barricaded, leaving little space for movement of vehicles, resulting in traffic jam on Brigade Road and Commercial Street.
60TH INDEPENDENCE DAY
Freedom Run on August 15  
To commemorate India's 60th Independence Day', Namma India@60, in association with Deccan Herald will organise a Freedon Run on August 15.
Youths steal show at Sangeet Utsav  
The Utsav, hosted by Smriti Nandan Cultural Centre, was inaugurated by Swami Iswarananda Giriji Maharaj, followed by a melodious performance of a unique wind instrument, 'Sundari'.
Merc theft: Three youths arrested  
The three youths who stole the car from a showroom in the city have been arrested in Mumbai on Friday afternoon.
Money goes down Drain  
Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy admitted that there has been misappropriation of funds to the tune of Rs 4 crore and the contractors have been asked to repay the money.
