Due to heavy rains that lashed the town for over a week, the tourists visiting the Cauvery Nisargadhama has declined considerably.
The Nisargadhama which usually witnesses a huge inflow of tourists, saw just a few tourists visiting the spot during the week. Following excess rains, water level in the Cauvery river has also risen considerably.
The boat ride facility has been temporarily suspended along with elephant ride facility and other entertainment facilities, informed sources from the Forest Department. The tourists have also not opted to stay in the tree-top huts due to the rain.
Moreover, due to flood-like situation in various places in the district and road links getting snapped on important roads, tourists have opted to stay away from the district since a week. Restrictions have been imposed on the visit of tourists to Harangi reservoir due to security reasons.
