Rs 50 lakh has been released to agriculture department under Vidharba package, said Agriculture and Industries Standing Committee President M Bhagavan.
Speaking at the Agriculture and Industries Standing Committee meet, he said that the family members of those farmers who have committed suicide, being unable to repay the loan, will be given compensation of Rs 10,000 each.
He directed the department of agriculture and industries to create an awareness among farmers on various facilities offered by the government.
He said Rs 1.39 crore has been released to horticulture department for drip irrigation. Kadur will receive Rs 75 lakh, Rs 50 lakh for Tarikere and remaining amount for Chikmagalur taluk.
Mr Bhagavan informed that Rs 17 lakh has been released for fish ponds. Forest department will grow saplings in 171 hectares of land. Chikmagalur district stands first in the State in the implementation of Pradhanmanthri Rozgar Yojane, he added.
