Pvt school on public road? Unseen hands at work
DH News Service, Malur:

A private school by creating fake documents has encroached upon the public road in Malur. The district court had appointed a lawyer to act on the repeated complaints lodged by the general public in this regard.

However, the lawyer has not been able to accomplish much in this regard, even after repeated visits to the spot.
Principal District Court of the city had stayed the construction of the private school building at the site, in front of the site allocated for the Congress Bhavan, by the court. It had also ordered for a survey.

As per the order of the government the court commissioner , lawyer G Srinivas arrived at the spot for the fourth time on Wednesday. However, due to the absence of the concerned officials he had return without any results.

Even during his earlier visits  none of the officials from the Survey Department or from the Taluk Panchayat had not responded to the issue appropriately.

Mr Srinivas had thus expressed his dissatisfaction about the apathetic attitude of the officials.

However, the taluk panchayat engineer who had arrived for the site inspection absolved himself of the responsibility, by saying that since the site came under the city limits, they were not to be held responsible for the issue, informed Mr Srinivas.

Background

In 1961, the State government had sanctioned 1.4 acre of land for the construction of Congress Bhavan. However, the documents indicate that  30 feet West of the site there would be road and after that there would be three sites and tahsildhar’s house would come further to that.

Moreover, according to the mahzar done on May 4, 1961 there is no remaining land. However, on 2004, the local Sanjay Urdu School had submitted an application to the Deputy Directorate of Public Instruction (DDPI) office seeking the allotment of a site at Rajeev Nagar. But the allotment of the site at the heart of the city is surprising.

A citizen by name Krishnamurthy on April 27, 2007 on behalf of the general public had filed an appeal seeking the receipt of the survey map of the allotted site. But he had to return empty handed as he was refused the draft of the map, by the officials.

Moreover, it is interesting to note that the school authorities have sought the permission to construct the school building by furnishing fake documents.

Despite the struggle by the general public to save the Congress Bhavan and the road they are being defeated repeatedly, as the school authorities are being backed by unseen powerful hands.
