Originally composed by Rabindranath Tagore, Jana Gana Mana is recreated by A R Rahman. Conceived and directed by Bharat and Bala, this 35-track album begins with a collective vocal version and ends with a collective instrumental version.
This single emotion is rendered by some of the greatest voices of the country: D K Pattamal, Pt Bhimsen Joshi, Lata Mangeshkar, Pandit Jasraj, Dr Balamuralikrishna, Asha Bhonsle, Jagjit Singh, Shobha Gurtu, S P Balasubrahmanyam, Bhupen Hazarika, Sudha Raghunathan with P Unnikrishnan, Begum Parveen Sultana, Pt Ajay Chakrabarty, Hariharan, Kavitha Krishnamurthy with Shruti Sadolikar. Most of all, there is the original rendition of the national anthem by Rabindranath Tagore.
In between, each vocal version there is an instrumental version: Hariprasad Chaurasia (flute), Vishwamohan Bhatt (Mohan veena), Ustad Amjaj Aliu Khan, Amaan and Ayaan Ali (sarod), Ustad Sultan Khan (sarangi), Shivkumar Sharma, Rahul Sharma (santoor), Ravi Kiran (saxophone), Kartick Kumar-Niladri Kumar (Sitar) and Kumaresh-Ganesh (violin).
The greatest instrumentalists and vocalists of the country rendering the national anthem in one single album makes it a collector’s item in the 60th year of Indian independence.

Swami’ is the directorial debut of Bollywood choreographer Ganesh Acharya and is said to portray a near reflection of his personal life. The music is a reflection of the journey that the couple go through and is composed by Nitin Arora and Sona Chandy. Hariharan and K S Chitra have rendered soulful voices to some poetic lyrics.
The album comprises of 14 tracks, both vocal and instrumental.
The songs obviously complement the story of the movie and are not item number song or running-around-the-tree kind of songs.
The English titles (besides Hindi titles) given to each of the track such as ‘Dream’, ‘Sorry’, ‘The loss’, ‘Search’, ‘Memories’, ‘Innocence’, ‘Agony’, ‘Missing’ and ‘Awakening’ give an idea of the kind of music to expect.
