Sena opposes implementation of Srikirshna Commission
Mumbai, PTI:

Shiv Sena has threatened to take to the streets if Maharashtra government implemented Srikrishna Commission’s recommendations out of “vendetta” for Hindus and said “justice should be allowed to take its own course.”

Addressing a rally of BEST workers union, Sena Executive President Uddhav Thackeray said it was his party which had taken to the streets and fought rioters as otherwise “Mumbai would have burnt.”

“If the government wants to implement the Srikrishna Commission report on 1992-93 Mumbai riots out of vendetta, then Shiv Sena will not keep quiet. We will take to the streets. In such cases, the judicial process should be followed,” Uddhav said last evening.

Shiv Sena has maintained all along that it was opposed to implementing the Srikrishna Commission’s recommendations.

The one man Commission which was formed to probe into the 1992-93 post Babri Masjid demolition Mumbai riots in the city had indicted several policemen and leaders including Sena Chief Bal Thackeray.

The then Sena-BJP government had rejected its findings.
