The jatha reached Field Marshal circle in Kushalnagar from Shirangala in Hassan on Sunday. The jatha was welcomed by DYFI district President Ramanath and secretary Bharath.

DYFI State President Sunil Kumar Bajal addressing the gathering said that it is the significant ocassion of 150th year of First War of Independence and 100th birth anniversary of Shaheed Bhagath Singh, who is the real icon for the youth.

On this Independence Day, the citizens must gain inspiration from this two historical events.

“The unity and integrity of the country that has grown on secular lines is at stake. It is being divided on the lines of caste, creed, religion and language by religious forces and fundamentalists”, he added and called upon the youth to stand united to save the unity and integrity of the nation.

He said that youth must fight their struggle based on the basic questions “Whether education for all and employment for all has been realised?” The jatha then proceeded to Virajpete through Suntikoppa and Nellihudike.
