Basketball happened to be a very popular sport in the erstwhile Mysore state.We do not find the same  encouragement  for this game to day.The state basketball association should play a more active role in encouraging clubs to conduct their own tournaments with ofcouse finacial assitance from the association as most of the clubs are not financially in a good position.The association should not expect them to posses their own ground or deposit money to the association for conducriting tournaments. Infact the association should bear some percentage of their expenses.These should not be conditions for recognizing them.
Let us hope that the Karnataka  Basketball Association would evince more interest in promoting thjis game so that Karnataka  getsback its original glory in Basketball.
