Canara Bank’s D Guruprasad maintained his good form in the State circuit and made it to the men’s singles final of the MS Ramaiah Anandashram State-ranking badminton tournament at the Canara Union Charitable Trust courts.

In the semifinals here on Monday, Guruprasad got the better of Prateek Khurana by a 21-17, 20-22, 22-20 verdict. In the final, Guruprasad will take on Aditya R Prakash, a 21-14, 21-17 victor over MD Anup Kiran.
The women’s singles final will be a contest between Monisha Vinayak and V Ruth Misha. In the last four stage, Monisha defeated Ashwini Ponnappa 21-17, 21-18, while Ruth scored over Saumya Padhye 21-11, 21-10.
Saumya and Ruth later paired up to win the women’s doubles title with a 21-6, 21-7 win over GM Nischitha and Varsha VB.

CM Kaveri won the veterans women’s singles above-40 title with a 21-12, 20-22, 22-20 win over Sharada Muralidhar.
