Puneeth P and Anjali Dinak won the Sub-junior boys’ and girls’ titles respectively in the Karnataka State-ranking table tennis tournament at the Belgaum Club badminton hall here on Monday.

Neither of them was really tested in their respective title clashes. While top seed Puneeth outclassed sixth seed Yashas RL 13-11, 11-8, 11-8, the fourth-seeded Anjali Dinak too was equally convincing in her 11-3, 13-11, 11-6 victory over sixth-seeded Aishwarya R Bidri.

Anjali had put out the top-seeded Bhavana V Murthy in a hard-fought semifinal, eventually coming through 12-10, 11-9, 9-11, 11-.7

Premchander G won the non-medallists’ singles crown, defeating Vedant M Urs in a keenly contested final 11-8, 17-15, 11-8.

While Vedant had won his semifinal against Sanjana Dinak in straight games, Premchander was taken the distance by Bhavana.
