Joint Commissioner (Crime), Bangalore Gopal B Hosur has been bestowed with the President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service by the President of India, Pratibha Patil, on the occasion of 60th year of Independence.
Along with him other other two officers from the City S T Ramesh and Additional Director General of Police and Inspector General of Prisons and J V Gaonkar, Inspector General of Police, Karnataka State Reserved Police, have also been honoured with the same award. Ramesh was in thick of a controversy recently, following the suicide of B S Abbai, DIG, Prisons, as it was reported that Abbai took the extreme step allegedly due to mental torture given by Ramesh.
Two officers from Udupi-N Guruprasad, reserved sub inspector, DAR and M C Jose, APC-12, DAR have been honoured with Police Medal for Gallantry.
