Canara Bank management should play some more pro-active role for the gain of the society, particularly to encourage education, said Noted social worker Dr H N Sudarshan.

 He was speaking at a ceremony to commemorate 50 years of the Canara Bank Jubilee Education Fund (CBJEF) at the Canara Bank building off J C Road, on Tuesday.

Dr Sudarshan said, he himself was benefited with the CBJEF run library as a MBBS student.

The social worker said, Karuna Trust, with which he is associated, is providing medical aid in 25 districts of the state.

Speaking on the occasion, Chairman and  MD of Canara Bank MBN Rao said, the employees of Canara Bank showed their concern towards society.
